How to Join and Subscriptions

The Marchington Singers meet to rehearse at Marchington Village Hall, Marchington, Nr Uttoxeter, Staffordshire weekly on Wednesdays, with short breaks at Easter, Christmas and during the Summer. The usual start time is 7.30 p.m. and we rehearse until 9.30 p.m. with a short break.
We are always looking for men! Tenors especially are grabbed with both hands (!), but Sopranos, Altos and Bass singers are always welcome. There is an informal voice test, but you do not necessarily have to be able to read music - although it is an advantage - nor commit yourself in the first few weeks. There has to be some flexibility on both sides.
The current subscription is £25 per year (three terms) or £8.50 per term.
We often travel to concert venues and festivals by coach, and visitors are welcome to come with us. We hold an annual Summer Dinner and often take a party to open air orchestral concerts. Fundraising events have included a Wine Tasting, Quiz night Cheese Tasting and a Singathon. We've been on three overseas singing tours, to which partners and families are welcome.
Our emphasis is on the enjoyment of singing and the camaraderie of others who love to make music for pleasure.
A Newsletter for Members and Friends is published twice a year.
