ABOUT US
We are a mixed choir with about 50 members (November 2007). We rehearse on Wednesday evenings at Marchington village Hall between 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm. We meet most weeks except for a summer recess of about 6 weeks and a Christmas break of about 3 weeks.
Our repertoire is 'mixed'! We enjoy traditional four-part songs, as well as the favourite classics. Sea shanties, modern pieces and songs from musical shows are all part of our experience. We don't go in for large choral works, though we have performed Vivaldi’s Gloria, Faure’s Requiem and Karl Jenkins “The Armed Man”.
We mount our own concerts as well as being invited to entertain at other events, and our Christmas Candlelight event is not to be missed. We have taken part in Music and Arts Festivals in the Midlands, gaining several awards through the years, and travelled to Yorkshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, Germany and Portugal. We sing at weddings, fundraising and corporate events, church festivals, dinners - and almost any event you would care to name! (We have sung in a Cathedral and in a tent - on a boat, in a wine cellar, an airport and even in a bus shelter!))

The Marchington Singers is a member of Group 10 of the National Association of Choirs
